Karen Villa

Bio

Karen Villa is currently working as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) for the Japanese Exchange and Teaching program. Her passions include East Asian studies and languages as well as education and cultural studies. Research interests include food insecurity, gentrification of minority neighborhoods, linguistics, and language education. Her dream is to work in intercultural affairs through the non-profit or government sector.

Education

Karen graduated from the University of Florida in 2019 with a bachelors in Anthropology. She minored in Japanese and was certified in Teaching English as a Second Language. Karen is interested in pursuing an MA in International Relations and Public Policy with a focus on East Asia.
